Singapore firm to partner with Pingyao in tourism

A delegation from Singapore-based Banyan Tree Holdings visited Pingyao on Feb 25 to investigate local tourism development projects and urban construction.

The group inspected Pingyao Eco-Tourism and Culture Park and Pingyao Botanic Park, and learned the history of Pingyao and its plans for promoting tourism. The delegates expressed their willingness to cooperate with Pingyao following the inspection tour.

The Pingyao authorities will improve the investment environment to facilitate cooperation with Banyan Tree, according to Shi Yong, a top official in the county.

Banyan Tree Holdings has developed into a leading international business group that is engaged in premium resorts, hotels, spas and residences since its establishment in 1994. The group has resorts and hotels in more than 14 countries, including Thailand, Mexico and China. It will further expand its business in China by partnering with Pingyao, a county with good tourism prospects.
