Business group goes hiking in Pingyao

More than 260 members of several local chambers of commerce went hiking in the ancient city of Pingyao on Feb 18.

The event, launched by New Pingyao Chamber of Commerce in Taiyuan, was to further communication and cooperation among chambers of commerce and call on more people to advance the development of Pingyao.

"Our chamber has rich resources and some members from Pingyao who have started businesses in Taiyuan. We hope that they will also contribute to the economic and cultural development in their hometowns when expanding businesses in Taiyuan," said Li Ligen, vice-chairman of New Pingyao Chamber of Commerce.

"Although I set up my business away from Pingyao, I am always doing my bit for the development of my hometown," said Huo Qi, a member of New Pingyao Chamber of Commerce.

The New Pingyao Chamber of Commerce in Taiyuan was founded in 2014 and consists of Pingyao businesspeople who work in Taiyuan. There are now more than 190 members involved in different industries, including mining, commerce and machinery. The chamber has organized several charity activities to benefit Pingyao.
