Germany signs education agreement with Pingyao

Pingyao has signed an education agreement with a state college of music education in Hesse state, Germany, promoting links between the two sides.

The German college will help set up a culture and tourism department and add a Business German major at Pingyao Modern Engineering Technical School, according to an agreement signed on Jan 3.

The Hesse Association for Promoting Sino-German Economic and Cultural Communication contributed to the partnership. Apart from arranging German teachers for teaching, the association will also offer local students opportunities for short and medium-term internships and further education opportunities in Germany. It will also organize regular exchange visits between Pingyao and German students, according to Gen Yue, executive chairman of the association.
