Pingyao vocational school partners with local business

Pingyao Huafeng Electric Motor Co established an incubation base in Pingyao Modern Engineering Technical School on Nov 25, to train more skilled students in numerical control, a technique using programmed commands in computers to control machines.

According to the agreement, the two sides will further cooperation on teaching practice and reform of the school's mechanical manufacturing major, such as jointly designing training plans and cultivating students' enthusiasm for vocational work.

"The collaboration between the school and business is an effective way to boost vocational education. The school is expected to accelerate the integration of learning and practice in businesses as well as foster the growth of able students," said Yan Gengqin, an official of Pingyao county, at the signing ceremony.

The technical specialists of Huafeng Electric Motor Co which produces electric-powered devices safe for being used in flammable environments will share their expertise in manufacturing with the teachers. Students will be encouraged to take an internship with the coordination of the company.

The application of numerical control technology is a key discipline of Pingyao Modern Engineering Technical School. The school-company partnership will consolidate vocational education in this discipline as students constantly practice what they have learned at the incubation base.
