Five new projects agreed in Pingyao

Representatives from Pingyao met with companies from Shanxi province and elsewhere on Nov 17 to attract more investment to the county.

There were five projects signed at the meeting, which included projects in finance, agriculture, tourism and the film and television industry. For example, Pingyao will cooperate with Guangdong Lisao Film Co on producing a 40-episode TV drama.

Shi Yong, head of Pingyao county, set out his expectations for those businesses which invest in the county. He said that local government will provide high-quality services and support for investors to facilitate the construction and operation of cooperative projects.

The rich tourism and cultural resources of Pingyao are of interest to investors, according to the five companies present at the signing ceremony. They will help the ancient region explore its potential in various industries and establish mutually beneficial relationships with the county.

Pingyao has focused on seeking business partners and attracting investment in recent years. Apart from the new agreements signed at the meeting, the county already has 15 operational projects worth 18.43 billion yuan ($2.68 billion).
