Pingyao meeting to boost spa industry

Representatives from China, Japan and South Korea attended an East Asia SPA Alliance Conference in Pingyao, Shanxi province, on Sept 8. The meeting was held to boost cooperation in the industry.

During the conference business representatives shared experience and sought partners focused on the development and innovation of the spa and healthcare industry.

Delegates of spa associations in China and South Korea signed a memorandum to cooperate in training aromatherapists. Several representatives were recognized for their contribution to the spa and healthcare industry.

Li Zhisheng, vice-director of the Shanxi department of commerce, encouraged better management and international communication to boost the local spa industry.

"As more citizens pay attention to leisure and healthcare, Shanxi should develop more leading businesses and optimize the structure of the spa industry, part of the leisure industry, to improve service and satisfy the needs of the public," said Li.
