Giant Ferris wheel lights up Shanxi

Shanxi province's tallest Ferris wheel, the Shanxi Eye, got decorated with lights on Dec 7, reports Shanxi Daily, noting that they change color to create different sights.

The giant wheel, in a culture park in the city of Jinzhong is modeled after the London Eye in Britain and the Shanghai giant wheel in China, and is the only Ferris wheel in Shanxi that is above 100 meters, making it a landmark for Jinzhong.

The 8,000 LED lights that have been added to it cost more than 200,000 yuan ($31,000). And the park will open at night for the Christmas season Dec 24 to Jan 3.
