Pingyao puts on brisk walking

Pingyao county, in Shanxi province put on a brisk walking activity with sponsorship from the Coca Cola Co Shanxi and the county's center for disease control to promote the sport for health benefits, on Nov 14, reports tynews.com.cn, on Nov 16.

The 6-kilometer-event attracted at least 500 local people, who got off to a good start after listening to a lecture on the relation of diet, exercise and health from Ma Chanjuan, of the Peolple's Hospital of Shanxi, who informed them that 88 percent of adults lack sufficient exercise in their daily lives, resulting in illness. The organizers said they hope they can convince more people of the importance of exercise and get them to come join in the fitness team.
