Chinese, Japanese and South Korean university students work on village revival

A traditional village revival plan will take place in Hengpo village of Pingyao county, Shanxi province, as part of the Summer Workshop Project for students from Chinese, Japanese and South Korean universities.

The Summer Workshop Project is an initiative started by China Central Academy of Fine Arts, Japanese Waseda University and Kyung Hee University in South Korea ten years ago. Every summer and winter, the three universities take turn to host activities in their countries. The initiative has great influence in the field of environmental landscape design.

The Arts Academy of Taiyuan University of Technology in Shanxi hosted this year for the first time, with a project in Hengpo village. Through in-depth research and cooperative design, these students will work out a plan for the village with an international viewpoint, which is expected to create a model for the new rural construction.
