Shanxi ranks eighth for contributions, public opinion says

Horizon Research, a third party research organization, released the results of surveys on the images of China's 34 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions on March 25.

A total of 4,656 netizens participated in the survey.

Shanxi ranked 23rd highest in favorable public opinion to the province with only 1.5 percent of votes.

However, Shanxi's performance with contributions was much better, and 2.7 percent of netizens in the survey thought Shanxi contributed most to the country's development, putting the province in 8th place. In a survey on most recommended tourism destination, Shanxi ranked the seventh among 34 candidates.

Beijing won tops most of the rankings, including the most favorable municipality (province or autonomous region) and most recommended tourism destination.
