Warm Pingyao winter college student gathering

When the College Student Association of Pingyao county, Shanxi province, arranged an informal social gathering, on Feb 22, at a local theater, it managed to attract thousands of students.

The association is a sort of youth league set up by local college students this past August, to provide a site for students to communicate via various activities, to develop friendships and cultivate a sense of responsibility and community.

The gathering was a combination of student vitality and the diverse culture of the old county, with the performances that the participants put on getting a lot of applause, with one student commenting excitedly, "This really helps us communicate with others and build friendship among peers," and another adding, "It's also a chance to let more people learn more about our hometown."
