Pingyao county has its eye on ecological tourism

The head of the Pingyao county, Shanxi province ecological tourism project had a meeting to discuss problems they might encounter in the project, on Feb 12, with the county head, Wei Mingxi.

The project calls for a 150,000-square-meter culture and ecology park based on Shanxi traditions and local natural resources, such as hot springs, with a AAAAA multi-purpose recreation center for sports, spas, and sightseeing.

It is being built by the Shanxi Guangdong Merchant Investment Co, at a cost of more than 10 billion yuan ($ 1.6 billion), with help from the Kunpeng Xinyuan Cultural Tourism Co, whose chief executive is Deng Qiu.

At the meeting, the county head explained their latest tourism developments, and Deng pointed out the possible obstacles that might require government help in making things go smoothly.
