Spring Festival market goes smoothly

As Spring Festival approaches, people in Pingyao county, Shanxi province are busy spending for the big event and for family reunions, so the local government did a recent survey of supermarkets and farm produce markets via its website and found a good array of festive goods, sufficient to meet the local needs and that the prices are at the normal level, meaning supplies and an orderly market.

Generally, every household makes some big purchases for the lunar New Year, so each market should have ample supplies in advance, as well as good transport and storage facilities, for example, at one local supermarket, where the head of market planning, Hao Ruijiao, explains that the sales boom during festival time has them doing some careful research on regular customer needs and the stocking of goods based on this information. Hao adds that meat, vegetables, and daily items such as toilet necessities always see a large increase in sales.

One local vegetable supplier, Zhang Gaiqin, says that this winter's supplies are abundant and fortunately the market demand is strong, so prices are remaining stable.
