Pingyao calligraphy lovers send out Spring Festival couplets

When the Literature and Arts Association of Pingyao county, Shanxi province, joined the Pingyao Calligraphers Association in organizing a cultural activity centered on the "Chinese Dream", on Jan 31, it asked around 100 calligraphy lovers to get together to write the character 'Fu', or 'good luck', for local cadres and residents.

So, the calligraphers all concentrated on the work and wrote the 'Fu' character in many different shapes, sizes, fonts, and styles for the locals, including some employees of the Shanxi Pingyao Beef Group and institutions for New Year's wishes.

These events bring a joyful, lively atmosphere in the build-up to Spring Festival, and Li Zengfu, the Pingyao Beef Group's GM, commented that it also brings a harmonious, festive air, while Zhang Tiancheng, the secretary of the Pingyao Calligrapher Association, said it is also a good way for calligraphers to spread some "positive energy".
