12th standing committee session of the 11th Shanxi CPPCC concludes

The 12th standing committee session of the 11th Shanxi CPPCC (Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference) was concluded on Jan 24 and finished all agendas.

The meeting confirmed that the third session of the 11th Shanxi CPPCC will be held in Taiyuan on Jan 27. Xue Yanzhong, chairman of the Shanxi CPPCC, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Vice-Chairman Li Yanhong hosted the meeting. Wei Xiaochun, Liu Diansheng, Wang Ning, Zhu Xianqi, Li Yue'e and Zhang Youjun, vice-chairmen of the Shanxi CPPCC, were present along with Yan Gensheng, secretary-general.

The meeting discussed work reports by the local government, provincial court and procuratorate, as well as development plans and budget reports. The provincial CPPCC standing committee work report, proposal report, as well as schedule and agenda of the third session of the 11th Shanxi CPPCC (draft) were approved.

The meeting decided to elect Li Fei, Zhou Mingding and Han Yufeng as the 11th Shanxi CPPCC members. It also approved the resignation of Sun Lianzhu, Yang Zuoqing, Meng Yuansheng, Hao Ruizhen, Zheng Hong and Ma Fushan as CPPCC members due to tenure and job changes. Tan Jinkang and Li Huiwen were removed as CPPCC members for criminal involvement.

Xue Yanzhong pointed out that the upcoming third session of the 11th Shanxi CPPCC is an important meeting for Shanxi to purify political ecology, carry out comprehensive in-depth reform, advance legal construction, and speed-up development of a well-to-do society nationwide.

Xue asked members to be enthusiastic; deeply study and carry out the spirit of the 18th CPC National Congress, the third and fourth plenary sessions of the CPC Central Committee, and General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speeches; and comprehensively implement the spirit of the sixth plenary session of the 10th provincial Party committee and various decisions and deployments.

All personnel were called to live up to responsibilities; offer suggestions; adhere to disciplines; properly review two session reports; and take care of various tasks to ensure the meeting be democratic, practical and inspiring. Xue also asked relevant personnel to work together and contribute to clean government building and prosperity in Shanxi.

Members of the national committee of the CPPCC in Shanxi and officials from the CPPCC of various cities in Shanxi were present at the meeting. Officials from provincial government departments were also invited to the meeting.
