Pingyao's economy in 2014

The county of Pingyao, Shanxi province saw rapid, healthy development this past year and was able to finish some industrial upgrades in 69 key projects, having received a total of about 33 billion yuan ($5.3 billion), with plans for many more projects this year, and managed to surpass its economic goals, according to a county government report.
In agriculture it spent 740 million yuan on more than two dozen projects, brought the total of cattle and poultry to 20 million, its meat, egg, and milk output to 180,000 tons, its dried and fresh fruit acreage to 200 million square meters, and agricultural sales to 3.4 billion yuan.
It also had 17 large industrial projects under construction, involving 3.2 billion yuan, in coal power, optical materials, electronics, and bio-technology and, in tourism saw great improvements, with revenues reaching 6.3 billion yuan by the end of November, up 28.1 percent.
Improvements on people's livelihood also saw progress, with the government devoting more than 60 percent of its budget to this area.
