Tourist train line—a good choice of travelling in Shanxi

The Railway Bureau in the city of Taiyuan, Shanxi province opened a new tourist train, the "East Lake", on Dec 2, for greater convenience in travelling around Shanxi province and getting access to its wealth of tourism resources and many interesting relics.

This is the first such line in the province dedicated entirely to tourism, so it links many of the popular tourist spots in the province, starting from Taiyuan, the provincial capital, passing through Datong and Linfen, and going on to Pingyao county, with the round-trip taking two days and one night.

The train has brand-new air-conditioned carriages, with accommodations and room for meetings and entertainment. The staff include senior chiefs who are good at local Shanxi delicacies and snacks, and a tourist guide and medical personnel to make the trip much more pleasant and complete.

The main purpose of this special line is to save travel time in an attractive, well-designed way, according to Shanxi Daily, on Dec 4.
