An old block around Helanxian Bridge, in old Pingyao county, Shanxi province, is being restored to its classical historical garden status with a bit of redesign work.

Historical records describe it as an exquisite garden with stone bridges and ponds, and some literary works describe the site during the Qing Dynasty (1636—1912). Today, however, all that remains are some relics. The county government began a restoration project in the surrounding area, several years ago and this addition is expected to bring great cultural value, improve the ecology and environment of the old town, and provide a better residential site.
