When Kong Ning was asked to be the director of the female photography exhibition, at the Pingyao International Photography Festival by Chen Xiaobo, the head of festival, she responded with a massive varnish work that shocked visitors.

Kong spent Sept 17 to 18 squatting on the floor of the exhibition hall trying to finish the 200-square-meter 'Three Girls', the largest work she has produced. After she completed it, she just sat down on the floor and cried. The work uses flower petals for a strong visual effect and shows three girls, 15 meters tall, with cameras in their hands, trying to catch the beauty of nature. The petals seem to be flowing, giving the work a dynamic feel.

The artist says that the love of life and pursuit of harmony between nature and humans is a constant theme in her work and, under her guidance thee female photography exhibition has drawn in works of art from 30 Chinese to give a female angle to love and life.
