'The Breath of China', a series of photographs submitted by photographers-who are the members at siyuefeng.com, to depict the air condition of capital cities across China and increase public awareness of the haze problem, will be on display at the 14th Pingyao International Photography Festival, Sept 19 to 25, in Pingyao, North China's Shanxi province.

The site asked 46 of its members to photograph the skies of capital cities, daily, at the same time over a 40-day period, combined with air-quality indexes and forecasts to make a documentary that they named "Breath of China". The project attracted a lot of attentions and many photographers took part voluntarily. It has also caught the eye of enterprises, including the Seagate Technology Corp, Sina.com, and Low Carbon of China website (ditan360.com).

The smog problem has been making the news in recent years, as China watched its air quality get worse and touch everybody's life. The series of photographs first made the rounds of the participating members and will move on to the public next week at the photographic festival.

The organizers will come up with related activities to engage the public, for example, a signature collecting event where they ask visitors to sign their name on a board for their respective province and promise they will contribute to healthier air in their hometown and will receive a small gift for their effort.

Afterwards, siyuefeng.com will put the full series online to spread the word.
