Pingyao advocates peace and cultural heritage preservation

To commemorate the 69th anniversary of World War II and the victory of the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, Pingyao county held a celebration to mourn those who died in the war and took the opportunity to promote peace and civilization, drawing people's attention to preserve the cultural heritage in the county.

People gathered at the county square and mourned for those killed in the war. After that, researchers of the history of Pingyao detailed accounts of Japanese intruders who committed crimes during the February 13 tragedy. A group of historians made speeches at the gathering.

Lei Lingan, vice-director of the general administration of the ancient city of Pingyao, advocated that everyone take responsibility to preserve cultural heritage and help promote the county to the outside world.
