2014 Jade and Stone Show in south Datong

The 2014 Jade and Stone Show has opened on Yuan Xing Street, Datong, Shanxi province, Datong Daily reports. The show presents a world of beautiful jade and other stones and has already attracted a great number of visitors.

Hundreds of participants from all over China gathered here and set up booths along the small street. Visitors can enjoy the dazzling jade and stones and choose whatever they like. There is a bewildering variety from all over the world; for example, big color jade, dark jade and silicified wood from Guangxi province, emerald from Myanmar, Hetian Jade from Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, and crystals from the East China Sea. Some of the jade and stones are large in size and peculiar in shape; some are exquisitely curved and mild in texture. Additionally, there are wood carvings, calligraphy and paintings from Guangxi province and precious wood on display, which offers a great chance to appreciate the charm and wonder of China’s jade and stone culture.

This show was held for five days at Heyang Art Museum, Datong. At the end of it, by popular demand, the organizers decided to continue with it in south Datong, providing stone and jade lovers yet more chances to exchange ideas. This show is now open until June 8.
