English training class for tourism workers

The Pingyao county tourism administration began a three-month English-training class, on Nov 18, to raise the English-speaking ability of its tourism personnel, with nearly 100 people taking part, including guides, hotel waiters and ticket sellers with a high school degree or higher and least two years of work experience in the sector and an acquaintance with English.

Those who complete the course and pass exams will be entered in a database, while those with a Mandarin guide certificate will get an English qualification certificate.
