Pingyao honored on list of 'China's Most Desirable Places to Visit'

The ancient city of Pingyao has won the honor as one of "China's Most Desirable Places to Visit" in a national tourism survey for 2013, Pingyao County's Tourism Bureau reported on Nov. 12. Pingyao was among 20 winners selected for the title from the 140 scenic spots participating in this year’s survey on "China's Most Desirable Places to Visit".

Sponsored by China Tourism TV Association, the Fourth "China's Most Desirable Places to Visit" Survey was conducted in line with international standards through online promotion, media interviews, spot assessment and website opinion feedback. There are 140 scenic spots taking part in this poll, and the ancient city of Pingyao ranks among 20 China’s most desirable places.

In recent years, Pingyao has become more famous as a popular travel destination. The new honor as one of "China's Most Desirable Places" will give an additional charm to Pingyao so it will hold a greater appeal for world tourists.
