Grand opening of 13th China Pingyao Intl Photography Festival

The 13th China Pingyao International Photography Festival, themed around “Images Oriented to Life”, opened in the old city of Pingyao, Shanxi province, on Sept 19.

During the seven-day festival, 1,600 designers and photographers from 32 countries and regions will display 12,000 photographic works across 427 shows.

The festival will host a round-table conference for the Asia Pacific PhotoForum (APP), an Asia-Pacific group, for the first time. The conference will discuss developments in photography in the Asia-Pacific region. Many artistic activities will also be held during the festival, such as parties, photographic seminars, and face-to-face communication with famous photographers.

The economic and trade activities on culture held during the festival will help integrate culture and economics.

The festival started 12 years ago and has become a communication platform for many areas, including academics and other topics related to daily life.
