Pingyao consumes more electricity in first half of 2013

More electricity was consumed by Pingyao county, North China’s Shanxi province, in the first half of 2013, according to the local power supply company.

By June 30, the local power supply company provided a total of 373.58 kilowatt-hours of electricity, a year-on-year rise of 1.37 percent. It sold a total of 337.19 kilowatt-hours of electricity, a year-on-year rise of 1.31 percent.

With an improved power grid structure and power supply environment, Pingyao has maintained overall stability in power grid operation, ensuring industrial and agricultural production and the power demands of local residents.

Faced with rising power demands, the local power supply company vowed to improve emergency response and scientifically plan electricity consumption.

A county chief hotline was also established for the convenience of social supervision.
