Pingyao regulates tourist parking lots

The local government convened a special meeting to better regulate the operation of tourist parking lots in the UNESCO World Heritage county of Pingyao, North China’s Shanxi province.

The meeting called off the temporary tourist parking lots at the south gate of the old city and agreed to establish full-use parking lots on Kangning Road, Hushenmiao Road and Chenghuangmiao Road.

Officials also clarified the requirements for and the responsibilities of relevant departments for infrastructure construction, operation and traffic control of electric power carts, ticket sales, tourist guide services and other support facilities.

The meeting was attended by Hu Jinliang, the deputy county chief, and heads of construction, cultural relic protection, tourism and passenger transport departments.
