Pingyao live-action show impresses Hong Kong media

Two cities in Shanxi province -- of Jinzhong and Linfen – invited a group of Hong Kong journalists and editors to come for a tour, last week, to get them to take a look at a live-action show, “Another Glance at Pingyao”, in Pingyao county, in Jinzhong.

Tie Ying, the deputy editor-in-chief of Zijing Magazine, in describing the show, said, “The actors were young and dedicated and are the hope of continuing their cultural heritage into the future. We were impressed by the faith, tenacity, innovation and hard work of Shanxi.”

The Hong Kong visitors also got a look at an ecological restoration project along the Fenhe River, which used to have a lot of dangerous mines, in Linfen, where Li Haitang, of the Asia-Pacific office of the Xinhua News Agency, remarked, “Who would have thought that this was once a hotspot for mine accidents.”

During their two-day tour, the media guests could see both the modernity and the past of Shanxi at industrial parks in a state of transformation, and scenic spots and historic monuments.
