Pingyao to invest $4.03b to develop key projects

The local government plans to invest 24.7 billion yuan ($4.03 billion) to develop 69 key projects and 10 priority projects in the tourist county of Pingyao, North China’s Shanxi province.

Leading the 10 priority projects is the live-action show Another Glance at Pingyao, which has received more than 65,000 people since it debuted during the Spring Festival holiday in February.

Featuring the kindness and loyalty of the Pingyao locals, the show centers on Pingyao exchange shop owner Zhao Yishuo, who spends all his money to save the son of his subordinate in Russia.

Well received by tourists from home and abroad, the show is performed twice a day, except for Monday, at 2pm and 8pm, and the ticket price is 298 yuan ($48.62). The show has been translated into Japanese, Russian, French, English and German.
