Pingyao International Photography Festival

The 13th Pingyao International Photography Festival, which will start on Sept 19, 2013, in Pingyao ancient town of Shanxi province, had its opening ceremony in the Diesel Engine Plant Exhibition Area, on April 17.
This year’s festival has a theme of “Image of Walking Toward Life” and will come in two parts, one that embodies both ancient history and the modern world, and another that expresses the contradiction between traditions and modern fashions.
The annual photography festival is often referred to as the “Oscars of Photography” and, now, after many years of hard work, has some fame outside of China.
