The Shanxi Health Commission in North China's Shanxi province recently announced that no examination fee will be charged for COVID-19 nucleic acid testing from Feb 7.

The waiver of the fee will only be for the test and not for the purpose of treatment, the commission added.

It said that all medical institutions will set up special windows and areas to provide services for the sampling of nucleic acid testing.

In addition, for the new price of COVID-19 nucleic acid mixed testing items, the mixed testing of five samples are priced at 30 yuan ($4.65) per person and the mixed testing of 10 samples costs 20 yuan per person.
