Hejin, a county-level city in southern Shanxi province, was recently recognized as a model city for sustained business environment optimization at the fourth Boao Enterprise Forum in Hainan province on Jan 10.

In recent years, to attract more investors, Hejin has issued a series of preferential policies, implemented investment promotion measures and released its first white paper on further optimizing the business environment in the province.

The city has established and improved a mechanism that allows cadres to enter enterprises to help solve operational problems. It has also published a guide for handling 284 approval service items related to business operation on its official WeChat account to help more businesspersons manage business items online.

These measures have streamlined the examination and approval procedures for investing and starting businesses in the city.

As a result, the county-level city introduced 45 projects with a total investment of 33.98 billion yuan ($5.25 billion) as of November 2020, exceeding the investment attraction target for 2020.
