Shanxi reports two COVID-19 asymptomatic cases

Jinzhong city in North China's Shanxi province reported two asymptomatic cases of the COVID-19 pandemic at a municipal government news conference on Jan 11. 

The two cases in local Yuci district were discovered during comprehensive and accurate investigations of people coming to the city from middle and high-risk areas, including neighboring Hebei province.

Both carriers are Hebei-born residents renting houses in Gaocun village in Yuci district and they have been sent to hospital for further medical observation and treatment.

Currently, 18 close contacts of the confirmed patients have been traced and received isolated medical observation. Gaocun village has been placed under close control and has had sterilization and local villagers are all receiving nucleic acid tests. Venues the two patients visited have also performed disinfections. 

In addition, the education authority of Yuci district has urgently adjusted the winter vacation beginning time for local teachers and students in primary and secondary schools to Jan 12-13, to ensure their health.
