The Mbalmayo branch of China's (Shanxi) 20th medical aid team to the African country of Cameroon received a letter of thanks from local compatriots on Jan 3.

For foreign-aid medical team members, treating African people and serving compatriots at Chinese-funded institutions are essential parts of their work.

Beginning in February last year, the branch in Mbalmayo, an agricultural center in Cameroon, has conducted training on COVID-19 prevention and control for many Chinese-funded institutions and established WeChat group chats to provide scientific training on anti-epidemic measures for compatriots in the country. The aim is to teach everyone how to face the local medical situation through the medical aid team's practical experience.

Apart from offering medical diagnosis and treatment, the branch has also provided Chinese workers in Mbalmayo, including employees from Shanxi Construction Investment Group Cameroon Co, with lessons and guidance on psychological adjustment during the pandemic.

The healthcare outpost has contributed a lot to Chinese compatriots' lives in Cameroon during the difficult pandemic period.
