Seven private companies from North China's Shanxi province made it onto the list of the 2020 China Top 500 Private Enterprises, issued on Sept 10 by the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce.

The shortlisted companies from Shanxi were Jinnan Steel Group in Linfen, Shanxi Lubao Coking Group Co in Lucheng, Shanxi Jianbang Group in Houma county, Shanxi Jincheng Steel Holding Group in Jincheng, Pengfei Industry Group in Xiaoyi, Dayun Jiuzhou Group in Yuncheng and Shanxi Antai Group Co in Jiexiu.

A total of 5,761 companies from across China -- each with an annual revenue of over 500 million yuan ($73.72 million) -- participated in this year's survey of large-scale private enterprises.

The entries for the list of the top 500 private companies each generated at least 20.20 billion yuan in annual revenue, an increase of 1.62 billion yuan year on year.
