North China's Shanxi province will help local companies above a designated size -- those with annual revenue of main business of 20 million yuan ($2.82 million) or more -- to further their technological innovation and achieve high-quality economic transformation and development, according to local officials. 

They said that a technology innovation boost plan targeting companies -- released by the Shanxi provincial government on March 20 -- will focus on the development of 100 key technologies in the green energy, advanced manufacturing and digital industries.

The province will assist companies to apply for major technological transformation projects and key technological innovation projects and pick 100 projects to be included in its annual 100 key innovative project plan, which garner subsidies for their technological transformation.

In addition, the province will advance the construction of various technological innovation demonstration businesses. 

It will help advance pilot projects in intelligent manufacturing, green manufacturing, big data and the hydrogen energy sectors. It will accelerate the application of advanced products, as well as technology and technical standards in energy conservation and environmental protection, big data and the hydrogen energy industries -- which will help push local companies into carrying out more tech innovation.
