Trains operated by China Railway Taiyuan Group are expected to transport 9.45 million passengers during this year's Spring Festival travel rush period from Jan 10 to Feb 18, representing a year-on-year growth of 4.3 percent, according to rail officials.

To allow passengers to enjoy convenience and comfort during the journey, China Railway Taiyuan Group has launched 30 measures.

Officials said the group has added 24.5 round-trip trains to ease the traffic burden in the travel rush.

That's after having added high-speed trains to Tianjin West Railway Station, Jiaxing South Railway Station, Guilin North Railway Station, and Guiyang North Railway Station. It has also opened the Zhangjiakou-Datong High-speed Railway and resumed four round-trip trains on the southern section of the Datong-Puzhou railway.

Officials said that China Railway Taiyuan Group has been improving its transportation capacity to meet the travel needs of its passengers.

Last year, the mileage of trains operated by the group increased to 3,013 kilometers, for a year-on-year increase of 4.7 percent.

The operating mileage of high-speed trains increased to 690 km, a year-on-year increase of 25 percent.

Meanwhile, the number of provincial capital cities with which high-speed railways in Shanxi connect increased to 18 and there were eight cities in Shanxi with high speed rails running through them.
