Lyuliang boosts its image at Shanxi cultural fair

Lyuliang city, in west-central Shanxi province, promoted its cultural profile at the 4th Shanxi Cultural Industries Fair – which was held in Taiyuan, capital of Shanxi province, on Dec 5-10.

Themed on "Lyuliang – a desirable place", the 300-square-meter Lyuliang Pavilion had exhibition areas for intangible cultural heritage, cultural creative products, the integration of culture and tourism, media integration – as well as the integration of culture and technology. 

There were 15 intangible cultural heritage items, such as paper-cutting in Zhongyang county and shadow plays in Xiaoyi county. There were also 13 kinds of cultural creative products, including wood carving and gourd crafts, on display at the fair.

The exhibition area for culture and tourism displayed four tourism brands of Lyuliang city. These were North Wudang Mountain, Qikou ancient town, Xinhua village which is famous for its liquor production and Jiajiazhuang village. These and other local cultural tourism resources promoted eight typical tour routes across the city. 

The media integration exhibition area showed the major achievements made by the city in media integration in recent years. The integration of culture and technology exhibition area demonstrated the city's recent achievements in big data and military-civilian industrial integration fields. 

In addition, Lyuliang launched a total of 16 investment projects, involving the tourism and cultural creative sectors, to attract a planned financing of 2.95 billion yuan ($419.17 million). 

Of these, two projects with a total contracted amount of 400 million yuan were signed during the six-day fair.
