Fifteen companies from North China's Shanxi province brought more than 100 kinds of rail transit and related industrial products to AusRAIL PLUS 2019 in Sydney -- the largest industry event in Australia -- on Dec 3-5, to expand their international market.

Officials said it was part of the 2019 Shanxi Brands Silk Road Tour (Australia), which aimed to help Shanxi's rail transit and other equipment manufacturing enterprises  go global.

They said that at the exhibition, locomotives, electric motors, special vehicles, fireproof materials and forging products have attracted the attention of quite a few Australian clients and visitors.

"As soon as the exhibition opened, some Australian clients have noticed and intend to purchase our activated carbon purification equipment and products," said Wen Xiaolin, chief engineer of Shanxi Carbon Technology Co.

It is the fourth time that the company has participated in the Shanxi brands promotion series events – the Shanxi Brands Silk Road Tour.

Through the series events, the company has received more orders from South Africa, Germany, Belgium and Russia, making itself the first exporter of coal-based activated carbon products in China.

Shanxi province also held the China Shanxi Railway Transit Industry (Australia) Promotion Conference -- another key part of the 2019 Shanxi Brands Silk Road Tour (Australia) -- at the AusRAIL PLUS 2019 on Dec 4, with seven Shanxi rail transit companies promoting their products and profiles.

The promotion conference aimed to promote the technology, talent, information and research and development on equipment sharing in the rail transit sector between Shanxi and Australia.

It also aimed at global technological and economic cooperation covering the entire industrial chain of rail transit.

According to Chen Hecai, chairman of Shanxi branch of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Shanxi is a major railway freight transport province with its rail transportation equipment industry development having started early.

Chen said it has become one of the important rail transportation equipment R & D and manufacturing centers in China.

Rail transportation is developing rapidly in Australia, especially in Sydney, and there will be many opportunities for cooperation between Australia and Shanxi, said Peter Ironmonger, Trade Manager of Infrastructure at the Australian Trade Commission.

As the largest and most influential rail event in Australia, AusRAIL PLUS focuses on showing the most advanced technical equipment in the railway and transportation sectors.

Officials said it is an ideal platform for global rail companies to display technology and equipment, learn about the latest market trends, improve their company profile, seek partnerships and open up international markets.
