Yuncheng in the southwest of Shanxi province will add charter flight services to Vietnam and Thailand in December, according to an air service launch ceremony held in the city on Nov 20.

Making its debut on Dec 7, the Yuncheng-Thailand charter flight service using an Airbus A320 aircraft will be operated by Thai VietJet Air and is scheduled to fly each Saturday, year-round.

The air service to Nha Trang in Vietnam will be launched on Dec 11. Using Airbus A320 aircraft, the Yuncheng-Nha Trang will be operated by Vietnam Jetstar Pacific Airlines and fly each Wednesday.

It is the first time that Yuncheng Airport has introduced an international air service operated by foreign airlines, marking a milestone in the internationalization of the airport.

According to director of Yuncheng Airport, it is estimated that 40,000 more passengers will travel between Yuncheng, Nha Trang and Thailand throughout the year after the two air routes are opened.

In 2020, Yuncheng Airport will continue to open international charter flights to Southeast Asia, Japan, South Korea, and Russia.
