Shanxi will provide research funding, relocation and settling fees and allowances for the highest standard of domestic and overseas academicians who work in province, according to a document on boosting innovation and entrepreneurship recently released by Shanxi Provincial Government. 

As an example, each academician working in the province will be given 10 million yuan ($1.42 million) in scientific research funding, 2 million yuan in resettlement fees and 400,000 yuan per year in personal subsidies.

Officials said the province was focusing on attracting top international and domestic scientific research and innovation leaders and innovation teams -- in the fields of strategic emerging industries, the comprehensive energy revolution and modern service industries.
