The Taiyuan part of the 2019 National Teenage Football Summer Camp kicked off in the local Fenhe River scenic area on July 16. 

Sponsored by the Shanxi Sports Bureau, the camp focuses on basic football skills training and five-a-side football competitions. Children between the ages of 5 and 16 are eligible to take part. 

The camp will be divided into two sessions, one from July 10 to 30 and the other from Aug 1 to 20. Around 200 children have already applied for the first session.

According to Zhao Wenli, director of the teenage division of the Shanxi Sports Bureau, the camp will learn from professional football clubs and schools strong in football education to cultivate new football talents and build a platform for teenagers to learn how to play football.
