A hard-fought and exciting China-South Korea collegiate football invitational tournament concluded at Taiyuan University of Technology, in Taiyuan in Shanxi province, on June 25.

Three football teams from South Korea's Dankook University and Chosun University and Taiyuan University promoted the cause of international exchanges in college football while competing and showcasing their football skills.

After a three-day competition, Chosun University won the championship, and Dankook University and Taiyuan took second and third places, respectively.

Taiyuan University of Technology has been cooperating with many well-known universities in South Korea on student and teacher exchange visits, international student enrollments, teaching, and sports.

"The tournament is also a move for our university to further its partnerships with Dankook University and Chosun University. I hope that the three universities will cooperate in more fields and jointly create a new example to China-South Korea sports communications," said Liu Runxiang, a top official of Taiyuan University of Technology.

Established in 1998, the Taiyuan University of Technology football team won one championship and was runner-up three other times in the Chinese University Football League. It has also participated in Sino-German, Sino-French, and Sino-South Korean communication events on behalf of Chinese university teams.

The invitational tournament was also a test competition and warm-up for the comprehensive review of the preparations for the coming 2nd National Youth Games in August, as the university will undertake the men's basketball U16 (club group), women's basketball U18 (sports school group) and women's football U17-18 events of the games.
