The fifth Shanxi Jincheng Taihang Mountain Culture and Tourism Festival opened in Yangcheng county, Jincheng city, in Shanxi province, on May 13.

Sponsored by the Shanxi Provincial Publicity Department and government of Jincheng city, the biennial festival has been a major event for the city to promote its profile since 2011. 

This year's festival consists of activities divided into three themess – culture and tourism, Go culture, as well as trade and investment. 

The culture and tourism part is made up of 43 activities including a culture forum, a cultural creative products competition, a fine arts exhibition and folk custom shows. 

The Go culture part has three Go competitions. The trade and investment part will see 700 business people from other regions carry out business negotiations in the tourism, healthcare, forestry and optical-mechanical-electrical sectors.

The festival will last until the end of October.
