Shuozhou to build civil airport

The State Council has recently granted permission to Shuozhou city, Shanxi province to build a civil airport. 

The Shuozhou civil airport will be built at the intersection of Fushanzhuang and Zirun towns in Shuocheng district, 22.5 kilometers from the city's downtown area. 

Construction on the airport is expected to take three years and cost a total of 865 million yuan ($128.83 million). It will consist of a comprehensive service building, terminals covering an area of 6,500 square meters, runways covering an area of 2,600 meters, and parking lots. 

The airport will also include things like a water and power supply, a drainage and sewage system, heating, an oil supply, communication infrastructure, and fire rescue services.

The airport is expected to receive 550,000 passengers in 2025.
