Fruit from all over the world is currently on display at the third Yuncheng International Fruit Trade Expo in Yuncheng city, Shanxi province. The expo opened on Nov 1 and is set to conclude on Nov 6.

This year’s event is divided across two venues. The main venue consists of 19 exhibition areas and houses sections such as the world fruit exhibition and intelligent fruit industry exhibits. The other venue includes machinery used in the fruit industry, seedlings, and rural arts and crafts.

The event even has representatives from 12 embassies attending, along with businesspeople from over 60 foreign enterprises promoting their products.

Apart from the fruit exhibition, 12 other events including a press conference to announce the price index of apples produced in Yuncheng, plus the first China Intelligent Fruit Industry Summit and various fruit marketing lectures are scheduled to take place.

The fruit sector is a pillar industry for Yuncheng's rural economy. The city now has cultivated land covering over 5,460 square kilometers, of which over 1,330 sq km is currently used for apple planting. The annual fruit output of Yuncheng amounts to 6.3 million tons, making it one of the top fruit-producing cities in China.
