Airports in Shanxi

By the end of 2017, there were seven airports and 211 civil airline routes in Shanxi province. 

1. Taiyuan Wusu International Airport 

Taiyuan Wusu International Airport, the largest airport in Shanxi province, has opened 130 civil air routes to 64 domestic cities and eight foreign cities, and one cargo airline. The passenger throughput of the airport exceeded 10 million people in October 2017.

2. Changzhi Wangcun Airport

Changzhi Wangcun Airport now has eight air routes to 11 domestic cities, such as Beijing, Shanghai, Wuhan in Hubei province, and Guangzhou in Guangdong province. The passenger throughput of the airport exceeded 540,000 people in 2017.

3. Datong Yungang Airport

Datong Yungang Airport now has 10 air routes to 14 domestic cities covering major hubs in China, such as Shanghai, Guangzhou, Wuhan, Harbin, Kunming and Yinchuan. It has three international air routes to three foreign cities: Siem Reap in Cambodia, Da Nang in Vietnam and Bangkok in Thailand. The passenger throughput of the airport exceeded 460,000 people from January to September in 2017.

4. Lyuliang Dawu Airport

Lyuliang Dawu Airport now has five air routes to eight domestic cities, such as Beijing, Shanghai, Lanzhou in Gansu province, and Guangzhou in Guangdong province. The passenger throughput of the airport exceeded 270,000 people in 2017.

5. Xinzhou Mount Wutai Airport

Opening in December 2015, Xinzhou Mount Wutai Airport has so far opened air routes to 12 domestic cities such as Shanghai Tianjin, Chongqing, Shenzhen and Guangzhou in Guangdong province and Harbin in Heilongjiang province. The passenger throughput of the airport reached 255,669 people by Dec 25, 2017.

6. Yuncheng Guangong Airport

Yuncheng Guangong Airport now operates 14 air routes to 20 domestic cities such as Beijing, Guangzhou in Guangdong province, and Chengdu in Sichuan province. The airport has transported more than 6.6 million passengers and introduced five airlines since starting operations in 2005, developing into the second-largest airport in Shanxi province.

7. Linfen Qiaoli Airport

Put into service in 2016, Linfen Qiaoli Airport has so far run eight air routes to 13 domestic cities such as Wuhan in Hubei province, Haikou in Hainan province, Shanghai and Beijing.
