A section of Dengyu stone tower contains ancient writing. The pagoda, built in the Tang Dynasty (618-907), was formerly located in Dengyu village, Jinzhong city, Shanxi province. It was stolen from the province in 1998 and donated to Chung Tai Chan Monastery in Taiwan by a private collector. As the origin of the pagoda was later confirmed, the monastery decided to return it to Shanxi in 2016. [Photo/Xinhua]
